PRP - Platelet Rich Plasma in Oakville
Platelet Rich Plasma therapy is a regenerative treatment that uses the patient’s own blood to promote healing and rejuvenation in various parts of the body. Platelet rich plasma injections are commonly used to deliver these healing components directly to targeted areas. Do you ever wish your skin was smoother and less wrinkled? PRP treats hair loss, anti-aging, stretch marks, acne, and scarring.
PRP - Platelet Rich Plasma
To obtain platelets for the PRP session, our nurse will take a small sample of blood (usually from the arm). Don’t worry, she is very gentle! The blood sample is then processed in a centrifuge machine, which spins the blood at high speeds! The platelets are separated from the other blood components such as red blood cells and white blood cells. The resulting platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the area being treated! There is minimal discomfort and minimal recovery time! We even use a heavy duty numbing cream to freeze the area before starting!
PRP Treatments
Stretch Marks:
PRP therapy can help to reduce the appearance of stretch marks by stimulating collagen production and improving skin elasticity. As you know, collagen is a protein that gives the skin its structure and strength. As we age, our collagen production decreases, leading to sagging and wrinkling. No-one wants that! PRP therapy can help to boost collagen production and improve the texture and tone of the skin.
Anti-Aging:
Platelet Rich Plasma therapy can also help to reduce the signs of aging by improving skin texture, tone, and elasticity. The plasma contains growth factors and other proteins that stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin. Both of which are essential for maintaining youthful-looking skin.
Hair Loss:
PRP therapy is also effective for treating hair loss. PRP can stimulate hair growth by increasing blood flow to the hair follicles and promoting the growth of new hair cells. PRP also contains growth factors! These factors nourish the hair follicles and promote healthy hair growth.
Scars:
It is also used to treat scars caused by acne, surgery, or injury. Again, the growth factors can stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin. This helps to improve the appearance of scars and promote skin healing.
PRP treatments are booked per session. Multiple areas may be treated in one session (example face, neck, decolette). Due to the large area of the scalp it will be booked as one session. You may, however, book scalp and other areas at the same time by doubling the session booking.
